Years ago, when our children were teenagers, our attention was drawn to Liberty Trust as a tool to assist each of them towards reduced indebtedness in their middle years. We were keen to help them. By making regular contributions to Liberty Trust for each of them, for a period of 10+ years they each would have the opportunity to apply for an interest free loan. We knew that those contributions would contribute to a pool of funds that keeps increasing for the benefit of others.
What impressed us was that this was God-honoring, lending without interest, and was administered very efficiently by staff who have a heart to see people avoid becoming enslaved to money lenders. This process of contributing over ten years also encouraged thinking and planning ahead, countering the popular expectation of indulging short term wishes and whims.
Now, years have passed and our Whanganui based younger son now has a partner and a family of their own. While very grateful for accommodation with extended family, it was tight. The dream of having their own house property seemed out of reach - until his Liberty Trust loan was taken into account! When the house next to their close friend came up for sale it seemed an ideal location. We prayed lots asking for God’s guidance. His Liberty Trust loan became a substantial contribution to purchase the property.
Being interest-free the Liberty Trust loan significantly reduces the interest burden. It is a definite advantage knowing they have permanent lodgings, can develop the place as they wish, and in time to come it will be part of their inheritance to pass on.
We are very grateful for the opportunity that Liberty Trust has provided based on biblical principles for our son and his family to be able to get stable affordable accommodation.
Blessings, Neil & Bev
