My mum signed up to be part of Liberty Trust who had a stand at the Parachute Music Festival in 2008.

At the time, I wasn't interested in buying property. But as I grew older and the cost of houses grew, I was keen to get into the market.

It took me 4 years in a competitive Wellington market to secure an offer on a house with my single income deposit. But ended up buying a small but homely house in Ngaio which I have called home since 2018.

Liberty Trust were supportive of the initial purchase and set up arrangements with Anglican Financial Care to get the full amount of the purchase price. Liberty Trust was also able to assist by lending for necessary repairs.

Having the high repayments and tight loan period has been tough, as I was made redundant during the COVID years. But Liberty Trust worked with me to make sure repayments were reduced while I regained employment.

With the obscene bank profits, and the rises in OCR and interest rates, it has been great to invest in a Christian organisation that is more oriented towards investing in healthy and happy families, than shareholder dividends.

Scripture: Matthew 6:25-34. Always a great go to!
