It is with a growing sense of deep appreciation and gratitude to our Lord and His obedient servants that I’m experiencing as I reflect on the wonderful gift our family is enjoying. The gift I refer to is our interest free loan received in June 2004. Our loan come earlier than we had expected and was quite a surprise to us all.

We were living in a small rural community called Bulls when we first heard of the concepts being offered through Liberty Trust. Both my wife Jacqueline and I were drawn to the long term benefits being offered to all those involving themselves within this ministry and it wasn’t log before we too were engaged in setting others free from the burden of debt. We did not know at the time exactly what or how we would use the interest free loan but knew that every month someone in the kingdom of God was directly benefiting from our contribution to the collective pool. This was not always easy for us as we experienced a period of significant financial challenge as I retrained through The Bible College of New Zealand, Manawatu Branch. Actually we were not able to continue the contributions for a short time and requested that our contributions be suspended. This was granted and we were able to resume our contributions after five or so months. This demonstrates the flexibility within the ministry and the lifestyle challenges and realities we can all face as we continue in the Kingdom Of God.

Our family has known the continued protection, provision and guidance offered to those who love the Lord and live according to His Word. We have gained great comfort in the knowledge that we are a people of destiny and that destiny is known to our heavenly Father and revealed to us as necessary to fulfill His purposes through our lives. Part of our journey has taken us to the City of Palmerston North where we purchased a lovely home in 1999. Our home has been used in a variety of ways to further the Kingdom of God and these have included, home groups, fostering children through the OHF & CYPFA, housing the administration and counseling services for a community based Christian offender rehabilitation organization called Genesis Trust and being a place of hospitality and shelter to all comers. We have also known times of significant change as God opened up opportunities to serve Him within a variety of roles under the banner of offender management and rehabilitation.

It was with much surprise and jubilation that we considered and accepted the loan offer from Liberty Trust in June 2004. We gain great satisfaction from the knowledge that every month a portion of our loan is repaid and in doing so we continue to contribute to setting others free from their burden of debt.

We continue to observe the fluctuating financial markets and the use of interest rates by the Reserve Bank to attempt to moderate the inflation rate. This gives us even more reason to acknowledge God’s sovereign hand over all things and extend our grateful thanks to our precious Lord for His wisdom in giving those servants of Liberty Trust the vision, determination and passion to fulfill their destiny through freeing others from the adverse impact of accumulating debt.

As we look to the future we do so with the knowledge that in a little over six years we will be debt free and in a very strong position to financially support and equip our children through their early adulthood. The money saved through the combined generosity of Liberty Trust contributors will enable our family to build upon a sound financial foundation and position future generations in God’s service.

We leave you with the comforting and inspiring words of the ninety first Psalm, NIV.

He who dwells in the shelter of the Most High will rest in the shadow of the Almighty.

I will say of the Lord, "He is my refuge and my fortress, my God, in whom I trust."

Surely He will save you from the fowler's snare and from the deadly pestilence. He will cover you with his feathers, and under his wings you will find refuge; his faithfulness will be your shield and rampart. You will not fear the terror of night, nor the arrow that flies by day, nor the pestilence that stalks in the darkness, nor the plague that destroys at midday.

A thousand may fall at your side, ten thousand at your right hand, but it will not come near you. You will only observe with your eyes and see the punishment of the wicked.

If you make the Most High your dwelling- even the Lord, who is my refuge-then no harm will befall you, no disaster will come near your tent.

For he will command his angels concerning you to guard you in all your ways; they will lift you up in their hands, so that you will not strike your foot against a stone.

You will tread upon the lion and the cobra; you will trample the great lion and the serpent.

"Because he loves me," says the Lord, "I will rescue him; I will protect him, for he acknowledges my name. He will call upon me, and I will answer him; I will be with him in trouble, I will deliver him and honor him. With long life will I satisfy him and show him my salvation."
