My story started with hearing Pastor Bruce McDonald talk about Liberty Trust one Sunday morning.

I thought it was a great concept and idea and at that time, it was a low interest rate environment and it made sense to contribute in the event where low interest was a thing of the past.

Unfortunately I actually forgot to set up the whole arrangement but my dad didn't. Fast forward to 2021 and I owned an apartment 50/50 with someone else (it was a bit hard to buy by myself) and was looking to own the property outright. My dad mentioned that he was still contributing and this would be a great time to utilise the Liberty loan facility.

Interestingly enough, there was no one lining up at the time as it was just the start of interest rates rising and people still had their mortgages locked in at lower rates.

The timing for us couldn't have been more perfect. My dad transferred the membership over to my name and I became in charge of repaying the loan over the agreed period.

It's been amazing to have this opportunity to be part of the Liberty family even though I had forgotten to sign myself up many years ago.
