We are the Hewson Family. We first learnt about Liberty Trust years ago, when our church was wanting to do something similar to help people in the church with their mortgages, but sadly it never ended up happening.
Years later we set up our three children with a Liberty Trust membership each and from the time they were young and working part-time they were also putting money in Liberty Trust.
Our eldest is now enjoying the ‘freedom from interest' on his home loan with Liberty Trust and will be debt free in the next year or so!
Our own story is rather involved, but we ended up buying and living on 5 acres of land, with our two younger children. We lived in caravans for six years in amongst serious health struggles.
We had the verse from Proverbs 24.27 "Prepare your work outside and get your fields ready, and then after that, build your house"; so, we spent the time putting in an orchard, an animal area, and vegetable gardens and so forth, building out to where a house would eventually be built. Due to my husband’s health we did not have a large income so were reliant on God to provide a house.
In 2024 our youngest son was killed in a car accident. As you can imagine it was a terrible shock. My youngest son had not used his Liberty Trust membership and so it was changed into our name. Liberty Trust was very helpful through this time.
A few months later I (mama bear) was in hospital for 4 months with a life threatening illness. During that time with prayer, the family started the process of planning to build a house on our land. So while in hospital I was looking at tap catalogues and carpet samples!
Thanks to family including our daughter, our younger son's Liberty loan, and insurance we were finally able to build a house, and even put a large deck on it, useful for family get togethers.
After all we had been through you can imagine how blessed we felt that God provided for us, in amongst such tragedy. We must admit it was bittersweet though as we were still grieving our youngest not with us.
We were very aware that unless the Lord built the house we labor in vain. The building company our son works for built the house, and we were so grateful to have God making it all happen, especially with our whole family being a big part of it all. At the end of the day a house is just a house. It is what it contains within that is important. The Lord and family give it life and joy.
Through the last difficult years, the Lord has truly taught us to be content in all circumstances and to wait on His timing. He has been faithful. We are thankful every day for Gods provision and his great love towards us.
May you be richly blessed with the fullness of God.
