Many people consider the Bible to be a book pertaining to spirituality but
not to such mundane matters as personal management of money. They would be
shocked to discover that the New Testament contains nearly ten times as
many verses regarding money and finances as it does regarding salvation and
faith.
“Why?” Was Jesus a money-grubber? Did He come to earth to collect money
to support His ministry? No, of course not! Jesus is not after peoples’
money. He was after hearts. He told us:
But lay up for yourselves treasures in heaven, where
neither moth nor rust doth corrupt, and where thieves do not break through nor
steal:
For where your treasure is, there will your heart be
also.
Matthew 6 v 20-21 KJV
How we relate to money is indicative of the condition of our hearts.
